Missouri State Men's Golf In Tie For 10th After Two Rounds At Memphis Intercollegiate

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Missouri State men’s golf team recorded rounds of 306 and 304 to finish the first day of the Memphis Intercollegiate at 610 and in a tie for tenth overall with Belmont (302-308—610).
Hosts Memphis (289-287—576) lead the fifteen-school field after the opening day of competition at Colonial County Club. The Tigers are the lone team at even or lower after two rounds.
South Alabama (288-299—587) sits in second, followed by Arkansas State (295-294—589) and Cincinnati (290-299—589) who share the third-place position.
Missouri State was led by senior Eric Straub, who carded 74-75—149 on Monday, his third-best first-day total of the season.
Joey Johnson is in a tie for 29th after the first day of competition, after scoring 77-74—151.
Nick Langley (77-77-154), Mitch Mather (78-78—156), and Brik Brauburger (82-78—160) round out the MSU competitors. Only five of the competing schools, including Missouri State, had all five golfers record second round scores of 78 or below.
Missouri State’s Mark Karlsen is competing as an individual and recorded a score of 79-81—160 over the first two rounds.
Memphis’ Cory Gaylord leads the field with his 2-under, 70-70—140. Gaylord’s teammate Florian Loutre (71-71—142) and Will Pearson (72-71—142) are both in the top-four, along with Arkansas State’s Eason Key (72-70—142).
The final round of competition will be played on Tuesday morning beginning at 8:00. Missouri State’s golfers will begin on the 10th tee, with tee times below.
