Game Outlook:

After extending their Plaster Field win streak to five games and moving up to third place in the Missouri Valley Football Conference standings last week, the Missouri State Bears travel to South Dakota State this Saturday for a 1:05 p.m. kickoff against the defending conference runners-up.

Coach Terry Allen's team is coming off an emotional and physical win over the defending Valley Football champion Southern Illinois Salukis, 51-41, last week at Plaster Field. Cody Kirby (Sr., QB, Rogers, Ark.) posted a career-high 348 passing yards and tallied 384 yards of total offense, also a career high, to pace the victory. Chris Douglas (Jr., TB, Lawrenceville, Ga.) was also a key factor, rushing for 86 yards on 15 carries while tallying three touchdowns.

The Jackrabbits (3-5, 3-3) had a three-game winning streak snapped last week at Indiana State, 41-30. SDSU tallied 22 first downs in the game, but managed just 339 yards of total offense to fall to the Sycamores. Kyle Minett carried 29 times for 149 yards and three touchdowns to lead SDSU's attack.

The Bears are seeking their first road win of the 2010 campaign at a critical time. MSU looks to keep pace with first-place Northern Iowa which leads Western Illinois by a half-game in the MFVC standings, while the Bears and Indiana State are tied for third place, a full game back.

The contest will be MSU's first game on natural grass this season and will give the Bears an opportunity to even their all-time record. Missouri State is now 442-443-39 (.499) in 99 seasons all-time, including a 199-145-12 (.575) mark all-time at Plaster Field, which opened in 1941.
