Missouri State to Host Fan Cookout and Auction Event at Plaster Field
July 30, 2012
SPRINGFIELD - Missouri State will host a fall sports Kickoff Cookout and auction event on Thursday, Aug. 23, beginning at 6 p.m. at Plaster Sports Complex.
Admission is $10 which covers auction registration; a meal that includes pulled pork, potato salad and beans; and all beverages and soft drinks. MSU head football coach Terry Allen will introduce his 2012 team and preview the upcoming season at the event, while other MSU fall teams will also be in attendance to interact with fans.
The auction portion of the night will feature approximately 40 live and silent auction items. The chance to bid on a variety of collectibles, become a Missouri State coach for a day, selected team travel, and other great items are just some of the exciting opportunities awaiting fans.
"This is a great fan event and a great way to start the new year," said MSU Director of Athletics Kyle Moats. "It will combine the best parts of our traditional auction and our meet the Bears night to create a fun night for fans, students and the community as a whole."
All proceeds from this event -- and a similar auction event centered around basketball in October -- will directly benefit Missouri State University athletics.
Parking will be available in the BearPark South garage, just off of Grand St.
