Missouri State's Douglas Named to CDS Preseason All-America Squad
Missouri State senior running back Chris Douglas (Lawrenceville, Ga.) has been named to the Consensus Draft Services Preseason FCS All-America Team, the organization announced Monday (June 20). Douglas, who was named to the College Football Performance Awards preseason watch list for running backs earlier this summer, is coming of an All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honorable mention performance in 2010. He became MSU's 10th ball carrier to rush for 1,000 yards in a season when he tallied 1,051 yards on just 152 carries with 11 touchdowns. His 6.9 yards per carry average was second-best in the Division I FCS ranks last season among ball carriers with 150 or more attempts. He finished 27th nationally in rushing yards per game (95.55), 51st in scoring (6.55) and 59th in all-purpose yards (108.45). Sixth-year head coach Terry Allen and the Bears will open the 2011 season on Sept. 3 at Arkansas. Season ticket information for MSU's four-game slate at Plaster Field is available by calling (417) 836-7678.
