Final Stats

Terry Allen
"A well-fought game. I'm obviously disappointed in the outcome, but I thought our guys played hard, it was just unfortunate. We had our opportunities there in the fourth quarter but came up a little bit short."

"We weren't able to get any first downs offensively and really kept our defense out there. They did some nice things on third down. The most glaring thing that stood out in the first half was third-down conversions. They were 4-for-10 and had the ball for close to 19 minutes. We were 0-for-5."

"We came out in the second half and made a big play and scored 10-straight points. After our defense made a great goal-line stand, we had a first down, but a young man trying to make another yard fumbled the football. But that's football. We definitely had our chances."

"There was some definite change in momentum throughout the course of the game. I give Jay, their head coach an awful lot of credit with this first-year group to hang in there and fight. They could've folded the tent. We could've folded the tent. Neither team did and we just came up on the short end."

Kierra Harris
"We have a stable of running backs so losing Heaston was big factor, but we have people like (Mikael Cooper-Falls) who stepped up."

"Our coaches coached us well. They came out and said we would see man-to-man and that's exactly what they did the whole game. We were ready, so that was nothing we didn't expect."

Caleb Schaffitzel
"We thought they ran similar stuff to what our offense ran and we had been practicing for their bubble screens and draws. What they gave us was what we were preparing for. We just didn't execute very well."

"I mean, it's the first game. We got all the jitters out, I guess you could say. If anything, we just have to go into next week knowing it's a reality check against a good team. We need to come and work a little harder."

Mikael Cooper-Falls
"I feel like we can build off of it. I just went in and did my job and my teammates sent up with a spark. I feel like we can keep doing the same thing to make plays next game."

Dorian Buford
"I (normally) make that catch. I should've made that catch. Both of them. If I want to be a big player, big players make those kinds of catches. (Harris) trusted me and he threw a great ball, I've got to make that catch."
