At MSU: Jason Thomas sat out last year, his first at MSU, after transferring from Ottawa University in Kansas. He played in the spring game last April and completed 3-of-6 passes for 15 yards with one interception.

Background: Thomas redshirted at Ottawa in 2006, then lettered in 2007. At Harrisonville High, he led his team to a 15-1 mark as a senior and played cornerback on a team that went 14-2 the previous year. He also started at second base on the Wildcats baseball as a junior and senior.

Personal: Jason B. Thomas was born on 8/28/87 in Okochobee, Fla., the son of Mark and Vickie Gassman. Jason plans to major in psychology.
