At MSU: After playing part-time in 2005, Keith Reed should be in the middle of the battle for a starting job on the defensive line this season. He ranked 10th for the Bears in tackles with 27 last year, and recorded a pair of sacks and two pass breakups. Reed accumulated seven tackles against Illinois State and six against Western Illinois. He had six tackles for loss, including two and a sack against Southeast Missouri State. His other sack came against Indiana State.

Background: Keith Reed came to MSU after two years at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami, Okla. Reed was a pre-season All-American at NEO and was a starter his freshman year.

Personal: He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 24, 1985, to Keith Reed, Sr. and Lillie Reed. Reed's major at MSU is hospitality and restaurant management.
