At MSU: Floyd Ramsey is part of a large group of defensive linemen hoping to work his way into the rotation for increased playing time this season. He played in five games a year ago and recorded his only three tackles against Quincy.

Background: Ramsey transferred after two years at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami, Okla., where he was an honorable mention all-league pick in 2004. During his high school career, Ramsey was a four-year starter and letterman for the Rams, leading them to an 8-3 finish his senior year. In his senior season, Ramsey earned all-conference, all-city and honorable mention all-state laurels.

Personal: He was born May 18, 1985, to Floyd and Pam Ramsey in Edmond, Okla. He is majoring in hospitality and restaurant management.
