At MSU: Jacob Patton transferred to MSU last January and took part in spring practice. He was slowed by an injury in his bid to take over a spot in the newly-reworked Bears' offensive line depth picture.

Background: Patton was a second team junior college All-American last season at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. He started at tackle as a high school junior at Stony Point in Round Rock, Texas, and then anchored the line at Hebron High in Carrollton, Texas his senior year. His Hebron team averaged 478 yards/game in total offense and led the Dallas Metroplex in offense.

Personal: Jacob Benjamin Patton was born 6/29/87 in Tyler, Texas, the son of T.F. Patton, Jr. and Mary Curliss Patton. Jacob has an academic major of psychology at Missouri State.
