At MSU: Greg Lovely should reclaim a starting role in the secondary after making an immediate impact for the Bears in 2005, his first season after transferring. He was named to the Gateway Conference all-newcomer team after posting 43 tackles, including 30 solos, which ranked fifth on the squad. He claimed a starting spot from the first game and shared the team lead with two pass interceptions. Lovely had three tackles for loss, broke up nine passes and blocked a kick. He had an interception for 19 yards against Southeast Missouri State and another pick against UNI. Lovely had eight tackles and two pass breakups against Indiana State, and five stops and two breakups at Arkansas.
