Kohenskey was named Lifter of the Year by the MSU coaches for his outstanding performance in the weight room and also served as a team captain. He picked up his second letter in 2004, starting five games while playing in eight. Kohenskey missed three games early in the year due to an injury suffered vs. Drake in the season opener. He was named the top sophomore on the team by the coaching staff at the end of the year. Kohenskey earned his first MSU letter in 2004 by playing in eight games as a reserve lineman. He redshirted at MSU in 2002.
