Saw action in two games during his redshirt sophomore campaign, including a stint against eventual FCS national champion North Dakota State (10/12/13) ... Also earned time in Bears' convincing win over No. 24 Illinois State (9/28/13).

2012: An early-season concussion forced him to miss most of his redshirt freshman season ... He did not appear in any games in 2012.

High School: Was a two-year starter and letterman for Coach Kevin Tippet at North Scott High in Eldridge, Iowa ... Earned Iowa Class 4A All-State honors by Iowa Newspaper Association, Des Moines Register and Iowa Preps as well as Quad City Times All-Metro ... Team averaged 348 yards per game in total offense his senior year and won first-ever playoff game, while averaging 35.5 points ... Helped Lancers to a 9-2 overall record and 8-1 record in the Mississippi Athletic Conference (MAC) as a senior in 2010 ... Earned all-conference honors in 2010 and was picked to play in the Iowa Shrine Bowl ... Was also a standout heavyweight wrestler in high school, going 24-5 as a senior and 19-4 as a junior and finishing third in districts both years ...
