At MSU: In his first season after redshirting last year, Jacob Highfill will try to work his way into the crowded picture on the defensive line.

Background: Highfill was first team all-state, all-district, all-conference and all-Ozarks at Glendale, with 58 tackles, four sacks and two blocked PATs as a senior. He was Southwest Missouri Coaches Association Class 5 Player of the Year. He was in the state wrestling meet and was sixth in the state track meet shot put as a junior, setting the GHS record of 55-7.

Personal: He was born Jacob Miles Highfill on May 19, 1987, in Springfield, Missouri. He is the son of Dean Highfill and Sheryl Cook.
