At MSU: After seeing limited action for three seasons at Missouri State, Chris Hayward will look to make his mark in his final season in 2007. He played in three games a year ago after seeing action in six games in 2005, mostly on special teams. Hayward's best game was a six-tackle effort against Quincy. He played in the Union and Tulsa games in 2004, his first season with the Bears.

Background: Hayward recorded 107 tackles as a senior for coach Joey Wiles at St. Augustine High. Hayward helped the Yellow Jackets to three consecutive district titles.

Personal: Christopher Andre Hayward was born 11/19/84 in St. Augustine, Fla., the son of Sheila Hayward. He is majoring in business at MSU.
