At MSU: Ryan Green will battle incumbent Jeff Sargent for the starting fullback job after serving in a backup role last year. He played in eight games a year ago, mostly on special teams, and earned his second varsity letter. He saw limited duty as a freshman with two rushes and one pass reception in his first year for the Bears after redshirting three years ago.

Background: Green was a second team all-state choice as a senior for Blair Oaks, gaining 1,220 yards on the year. Green was an all-district pick at defensive end as a senior, and all-district and all-conference at running back his junior year. Green holds the school single-game rushing record with 307 yards as a senior against California High.
