At MSU: Clayton Dickehut will look to continue in 2008 the success he had last fall in his first year on the Bears' defensive line. He started all 11 games for Missouri State and was one of the leaders among the Bears' defensive linemen with 39 total tackles. His seven stops against Central Arkansas and five against eventual league champ Northern Iowa were his best outings of the season and he recorded three tackles for losses vs. UCA. He added a pass interception in the upset win over Illinois State and recovered a fumble at Southern Illinois. His play earned him selection to the Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer team for 2007.
Background: Dickehut came to Missouri State in 2007 from Garden City (Kan.) Community College. His play helped Garden City to a runnerup finish in the Jayhawk Conference in 2006 when he was a sophomore. He was selected to play in the Dixie-Rotary Bowl as a freshman.
Personal: Clayton John Dickehut was born 1/2/87 in Wichita, Kan., the son of Kyle and Leah Dickehut. He is majoring in psychology.
