Schaffitzel, Cooper-Falls Lead Valiant MSU Effort, But Late Turnovers Result in 21-17 Setback

The team's top rusher in 2009, Cooper-Falls enters his fourth season in the program and looks to bounce back from a knee injury that kept him sidelined for all of the 2011 season, including 2012 spring drills.

2011: Suffered ACL injury in spring workouts and missed his entire sophomore season. Had 20 carries for 49 yards (2.5) in three spring scrimmages in 2011 before the injury.

2010: Finished the 2010 spring scrimmage series with 17 carries for 38 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but was injured (knee) in the Maroon and White Game (4/24/10) ... Was issued a medical redshirt.

2009: Earned Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer Team honors ... Led the team in rushing yards (424) despite starting just 2 games and playing 9 ... Finished 10th in the league in rushing and 18th in total offense ... Named MSU Media Player of the Week and team Offensive Player of the Week after a 105-yard rushing effort at North Dakota State (10/24/09) on 16 carries with a touchdown in his first-ever career start ... Also collected 69 yards on 16 carries in win at Western Illinois (10/17/09) ... Ended the season with games of 59 yards and 58 yards, respectively against Indiana State (11/7/09) and at Southern Illinois (11/14/09), getting 4.3 yards per carry during that stint ... Scored first career touchdown in home win over UT Martin (9/12/09) ... Earned double-figure carries each of the last 5 games and averaged 62.8 rushing yards per game during that stretch ...
