At MSU: Chris Geisz returns to wide receiver after playing cornerback last season. He'll be a primary target as one of four lettermen in a young receiving corps. As a defensive back in 2007, Geisz was in 11 games with 19 tackles and an interception. In 2006 as a receiver, he had seven starts and three TD receptions. Geisz had five grabs for 90 yards and a TD against Sam Houston State, three catches for 66 yards vs. Southwest Baptist and four for 38 vs. Illinois State. He was voted to the Valley All-Academic Team with a 3.60 GPA. He saw action on special teams in 2005.
Background: Geisz led St. Louis Lindbergh to second and fourth in state playoff visits. He earned first team all-state and all-metro honors as a senior after catching 35 passes for 858 yards and eight TDs. Geisz set school records as a junior with 55 catches for 935 yards. Nominated for the U.S. Army All-America Team, he was among the Super 30 recruits by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. In the classroom, he was a College Football Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete, receiving his school's Platinum Award for a 4.0 GPA six semesters.
