At MSU: Bryan Byrd is expected to again be an anchor on the offensive line after earning a full-time starting role last season. He started six games in 2004 as a sophomore and gave the Bears' steady blocking up front after Steve Kohenskey was injured in the first game of the season. Byrd missed the Illinois State and Indiana State games that season due to injury. He earned his first letter at Missouri State in 2003 as a redshirt freshman, playing in Bears' games against East Central, Bacone, Indiana State, Illinois State and Western Illinois.Background: Byrd was a three-year prep letterman for coach Greg Simpkins's West Plains High School club. Byrd helped the Zizzers to back-to-back 8-2 records his final two years at WPHS, earning first team all-conference, all-district and all-Ozarks second team honors.
