Sophomore Andrew Beisel Discusses Depth at ILB

The team's top tackler from 2011 returns to his post this fall with expectations of anchoring the MSU defense from his Mac linebacker spot ... Had 5 tackles and a 27-yard interception return in the Maroon and White spring game (4/21/12).

2011: Became the first Bears' freshman since 1998 to lead the team in tackles when he brought down 84 ball carriers in his redshirt freshman campaign ... Earned MVFC All-Newcomer honors after finishing 10th in the league in total stops ... Started 9 games and matched team high with 6 tackles for loss and 2 fumble recoveries along with 3 forced fumbles ... Also collected 2.5 sacks ... Posted 7 tackles in collegiate debut at Arkansas (9/3/11) ... Had 11 total stops at Eastern Kentucky (9/10/11) and at Southern Illinois (9/24/11) ... Was in on 6 solo stops in win at Western Illinois (10/22/11) ...
