Bears Trailing ORU Big After Going Cold in First Half

Dec. 1, 2012

SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State was 1-for-15 from 3-point range while visiting ORU put together a furious 19-0 run in the first 10 minutes of the ball game. The visiting Golden Eagles took a 40-15 lead into the break.

A dismal first half saw the Bears shoot 20 percent on 6-of-30 field goal attempts, but missed 10 straight shots after leading 2-0 on a quick layup by Christian Kirk early.  ORU, meanwhile, shot lights out on a 15-for-27 (.556) clip to build its largest lead of the game on a 3-pointer at the buzzer by Niles.

Anthony Downing's 5 points leads MSU, while Kirk has 4 points and 6 boards.

Niles has 19 points at the break to lead the visitors, who have out-rebounded the Bears by a 23-14 margin.  Turnovers were even at 6 apiece.
