MSU Announces 2014-15 Basketball Season Ticket Packages
May 16, 2014
SPRINGFIELD – Season ticket renewal packets for all current Missouri State basketball season ticket holders will be mailed soon, and new season ticket applications are currently being accepted for the upcoming season, Director of Athletics Kyle Moats announced today.
A number of new packages and discounts are available, and fans interested in purchasing or inquiring about season tickets to see the Bears and Lady Bears at JQH Arena this winter should call (417) 836-8899 or (417) 836-8934 or visit the ticket page at MissouriStateBears.com.
On the men’s basketball side, a number of upgrades await Bears fans including a great option in the upper level with all season tickets reduced to $160. The annual seat assessment for the upper level has also been eliminated this year, except for first-row seats in sections CC, DD, EE, JJ, KK and LL.
The men’s basketball Family Plan has also been upgraded with tickets for the Family Section (JJ) valued at $85 apiece. At least one member of the group must be 17-years-old or younger to utilize the Family Plan discount.
“We’ve listened closely to concerns our fans have voiced about affordability,” said Moats. “We’re excited to see the response to the changes we’ve made to the price points in the upper level. We’re also planning some changes to single game pricing that we will announce at a later time.”
With more than a thousand new season ticket holders in the fold from last season, price points for Lady Bears season tickets remain unchanged with packages starting at $80 for bleacher season tickets, and all lower-level season tickets remaining $120.
“We were very encouraged by the response of our Lady Bear fans to the changes we made to the pricing structure last year,” Moats explained. “We believe in where Coach Harper is taking the program and want our fans to spread the word that they believe as well. Our goal is not just to lead the Valley in attendance as we did last year, but to again rank among the national leaders.”
Discounts on Bears and Lady Bears season ticket packages are available for Young Bears Fund members (25 percent) and Missouri State faculty and staff (50 percent). Young Bears Fund members, for fans 30 and younger, also receive a 50 percent discount on Bears Fund seat assessments.
The Bears and Coach Paul Lusk manufactured one of the best turnarounds in the Division I ranks this season as MSU jumped from last year’s 11-22 ledger to a 20-13 mark in 2013-14. Missouri State will return four starters and seven lettermen from a team that tied for fourth in a competitive Missouri Valley Conference race and earned a berth in the 2014 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament. A trio of talented high school recruits and a pair of highly touted juco transfers will also join the fold this season.
The Lady Bears showed glimpses of a bright future during Kellie Harper’s first season in 2013-14, with an 11-4 record in a stretch from Dec. 15 to Feb. 7 that included a victory over Missouri. Among MSU’s eight returning letterwinners are all-conference guards Kenzie Williams and Tyonna Snow, while four all-state high school performers will join the Lady Bears freshman class for 2014-15.
