Anthony Downing has 9 points to lead Missouri State, but Bears trail 31-22 at the half

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Missouri State spotted home standing the Southern Illinois Salukis the first 10 points of the game and outscored them over the last 15 minutes of the half, but the Bears trail 31-22 at the intermission at SIU Arena.
Missouri State has 9 points from Anthony Downing, who broke MSU's scoreless streak at the 15:10 mark with a short jumper. Marcus Marshall has 6 points, and the Bears have 4 of their 11 rebounds by Keith Pickens.

MSU reeled off the game's next 5 points with a 3-pointer by Marshall and a short jumper by Downing that made it a 27-22 game with 1:17 to play. But Early scored the last four points of the half for SIU to stretch the home lead back to 9 at the break.
