High School Was named Class 3A-4A (large school) Player of the Year by both the Belleville News-Democrat and Alton Telegraph after his senior season in 2013-14 ... Led Edwardsville (Ill.) High to a 30-4 record and fourth-place finish in the Illinois Class 4A state tournament ... Averaged 17.3 points, 8.0 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game while knocking down 55 3-pointers as a senior ... He also made 85 percent of his free throws for coach Mike Waldo's Tigers ... Honored by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association as an elite Class 3A-4A All-State first-team selection, in addition to claiming Illinois Gazette second-team all-state honors ... Was also a first-team all-conference pick and became Edwardsville's all-time assists leader as well as a 1,000-point scorer ... Was second among all St. Louis metro players in assists (8.03) after leading all city players as a junior (9.00) ... Helped Edwardsville to an 85-13 overall record in his three varsity seasons ... He averaged 9.8 points and 2.4 rebounds in 2012-13 while earning all-conference and third-team all-state honors for a 31-3 regional championship team ...
