SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - With winter weather-like conditions expected to return to Springfield, the Missouri State Bears' series opener against Wichita State has been postponed. Originally scheduled for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch Friday (May 3) at Hammons Field, the Missouri Valley Conference series opener featuring two of the league's top three clubs will now take place Saturday (May 4) at 12:30 p.m.

As a result of Friday's postponement, the weekend series will now conclude with a Sunday double-header consisting of two nine-inning games, beginning at 11 a.m.

Missouri State (27-13, 11-4 MVC) and Wichita State (27-21, 11-4 MVC) enter the weekend tied for the second spot in the MVC standings, percentage points behind first-place Illinois State (29-16, 9-3 MVC).
