SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State University will host its 2012 Bears Baseball Camp June 18-19, at Hammons Field. MSU head coach Keith Guttin and assistant coaches Brent Thomas and Paul Evans will serve as lead instructors of the camp, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. each day and is open to ages 7-14.

The purpose of the Bears Baseball Camp is to provide each camper with two exciting days of baseball activity that will increase his knowledge of the game, develop his personal skill level and teach techniques for the improvement of overall play. The camp day will revolve around six main areas of concentration. Each phase is designed to increase skill level and overall understanding of a particular area. There will be a minimum of one instructor for each 10 campers. The six phases of the camp include:

1. Hitting
2. Individual Position Play
3. Sliding
4. Fielding
5. Base Running
6. Throwing

The cost of the camp is $100 and includes a Missouri State Baseball Camp t-shirt or hat. Each camper should bring his own glove, bat and water bottle, and catchers should bring their own gear.
