Bears' Home Opener Falls Victim to Weather Once Again
March 3, 2014
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Winter weather has forced the postponement of Missouri State's 2014 home opener for the second time in less than a week, as Tuesday's (March 4) contest with Arkansas State has been canceled.
The Bears (7-3), who saw their original home-opening series with Purdue wiped away last weekend, and Red Wolves were scheduled to square off in a two-game series at Hammons Field. Game two of the set, slated for 3:05 p.m. Wednesday (March 5), is tentatively scheduled to be played, weather permitting.
To accommodate the early season scheduling changes, both single-game and season tickets for Tuesday's game or any of the three contests in MSU's previously scheduled series with Purdue, are redeemable for any other MSU home game this season, either through the MSU Athletics Box Office at JQH Arena or on game days at Hammons Field.
Bears' single-game tickets are priced at $5 for the general public, $2.50 for Missouri State faculty and staff, $2 for students and $4 per adult ($2 for children) for groups of 20 or more for the 2014 season. All children ages 12 and under will require a $2 ticket for admission. Eight-game mini-plans, which allow fans to the opportunity to customize their own ticket package by selecting seats to eight home games of their choice, will also be available for $32 per person.
For additional information on single-game ticket purchases to any MSU home game in 2014, please contact Duane Miller at (417) 836-8899 or the MSU Athletics Box Office at (417) 836-7678.
