2013: Wilson played in 35 games for the Bears as a rookie, including 10 starts at first base...Drove in eight runs on the year and posted a .319 on-base percentage by drawing 12 walks in 69 plate appearances...Hit .333 (6-for-18) and slugged a team-best .500 at home...Also posted a club-high four pinch hits in 16 at-bats...Came off the bench to score a pair of runs and drive in another with his first career double March 16 vs. Western Illinois; also walked and recorded his first stolen base in the 10-4 MSU win...Hit in three straight games, March 27-30, as part of a season-best five-game MSU win streak...Walked three times, scored twice and plated a pair of runs to help the Bears take two of three games from Southern Illinois in a key MVC series, April 12-14...Played for the Shelter Island Bucks of the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League over the summer.

2012: Sat out season as a redshirt...Batted .308 in 15 games with the Joplin Outlaws of the MINK League over the summer.

Background: Wilson joined the Bears after finishing a prolific high school career at nearby Strafford (Mo.) High, where he hit .438, clubbed eight home runs and drove in 35 baserunners as a senior in 2011 en route to his third straight all-state nod...Belted nine homers with a .623 average and 53 RBIs as a junior...Slugged 1.232 in 2010 to earn all-state, all-district, all-conference and all-Ozarks honors as the Indians finished 23-5 and advanced to the state quarterfinals...Batted leadoff as a sophomore and hit four homers to go with a .375 average and 28 walks as Strafford ended the season with a state runner-up finish...Earned all-state and all-conference honors as a sophomore...Also starred on the Strafford basketball team for his father Mike, advancing to the Class 3 state title game in 2011 and going 52-7 his final two seasons on the hardwood.
