2011: Seifert started all 56 games for the Bears, 36 at third base and 20 at first base...Batted .289 with team-highs of nine home runs and 43 RBIs...Also led the team with 232 at bats and 16 doubles while ranking second with 35 runs scored...Opened the season on a 12-game hitting streak...Slugged .483 and stole five bases...Homered twice in a March 25 game at Oral Roberts...Went 4-for-6 with three RBIs and a walk-off double March 4 versus North Dakota...Went 5-for-5 with four RBIs and three runs scored against Saint Louis (April 3)...Ranked second on the team in both multi-hit (20) and multi-RBI (11) games...Scored the game-winning run six times and had four game-winning RBIs...Drove in three or more runs in six games...Was a First-Team MVC Scholar-Athlete and all-tournament selection...Starred for the St. Joseph Mustangs in the summer, batting .372 with 46 RBIs, 49 runs scored, 23 doubles, three triples, six homers and 15 steals in 47 games while being ranked by Baseball America as the league's third-best prospect.
Background: Played at Iowa Western Community College prior to MSU, winning the JUCO World Series championship in 2010...First-team NJCAA All-American with season totals of a .485 average, 18 homers, 92 RBIs and 75 runs scored as a sophomore...Hit a walk-off home run to send IWCC to the national title game and made the all-tournament team at the JUCO World Series...His .485 average, 97 hits and 92 RBIs went as IWCC season records at the traditional JUCO baseball power...Batted .375 with six homers and 57 RBIs as a freshman as the Reivers finished 10th at the World Series...Was a three-time first-team all-conference player at Cameron High in northwest Missouri...Tabbed honorable mention all-state following a senior season in which he hit .553 with six homers in 17 games...Played point guard on the Cameron basketball team and receiver/defensive back on the gridiron.
