2009: Maddox pitched 20.2 innings as a redshirt freshman, going 1-1 with a 5.23 ERA and 17 strikeouts ... Held Middle Tennessee to two hits over 3.1 innings with five strikeouts in his first career appearance (2/22) ... Started and pitched 4.1 innings in a no-decision against Central Arkansas (3/4) ... Threw two scoreless innings at Arkansas State (4/15) ... Picked up the win versus Illinois State in the MVC Tournament (5/20), throwing the final 4.1 innings of the game and striking out three Redbirds while allowing two earned runs.

2008: Redshirt season at Missouri State.

Background: Adam Maddox was a four-year starter as a pitcher and catcher for Saint Paul Lutheran High in Concordia, Mo., where he finished his career with an incredible .536 batting average and a 23-3 record as a starting pitcher with 297 strikeouts in 182 innings ... Hit .647 as a senior in 2007 and had a 0.41 ERA on the mound to earn first-team all-state, all-conference and all-district honors ...
