2012: Powers made 11 appearances, including seven starts, as a junior, going 2-2 with a 4.03 ERA...Established career best numbers for wins, innings pitched (44.2) and strikeouts (43)...Closed out the Bears' 8-1 win at SEMO (March 20) with a scoreless ninth inning in his first appearance in over four weeks...Turned in his second-straight scoreless outing April 1 at Dallas Baptist, working 2/3 of an inning with one strikeout...Notched his first win of the season April 4 vs. Arkansas State, working 6.0 innings and striking out a career-high nine hitters in the 12-5 MSU victory...Matched his career-best strikeout total with nine punchouts in a 3-0 combined shutout of Kansas State (April 11); worked six scoreless innings, allowing just five hits and one walk...Allowed just one run on four hits while striking out seven and walking one in 6 IP of a 1-0 loss to Saint Louis (April 17)...Tossed a career-high 9 1/3 innings in an eventual 3-2 loss to Southern Illinois at the MVC Championship (May 24); allowed just one earned run on eight hits...Spent his second straight summer with the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League, racking up 50 strikeouts in 59.0 innings and going 3-2 with a 4.73 ERA.
