Hord hit .495 as a senior, piling up 50 hits in just 24 games to earn all-state honors and the conference player of the year nod ... Played for an Ozark High School team which won a state title his sophomore season when he was an all-conference and all-district selection ...Added all-Ozarks and all-state laurels as a junior for coach Mike Essick after hitting .416 and allowing only one opposing base runner to steal against him during the season ... Hord also was a point guard in basketball, a goalkeeper in soccer and a punter and kicker in football.
