2014: Hawkins started all 57 games at shortstop to run his streak of consecutive games started to 96...Posted career-best numbers for batting (.243), hits (46), RBIs (19), runs (19) and on-base percentage (.327), while shattering MSU single-season (19) and career (33) records for sacrifice hits...Led the Valley and ranked eighth nationally in sacrifices...Also broke the Bears' school single-season record with 185 defensive assists, which led the MVC and helped MSU post a .972 team fielding percentage, which ranks as the second-highest in program history...Reached base safely in 17 straight games, April 25-May 21, batting .328 with a .418 OBP over the same stretch; also notched a career-best eight-game hitting streak over which he hit .379 (May 9-21)...Logged back-to-back two-hit games vs. Northern Illinois (Feb. 21-22), including a personal-best two doubles in MSU's 11-0 win in the second game to raise his average to a season-high .375...Posted a pair of hits, drew a walk and scored a run against Kansas State (March 1)...Came through with a pair of two-hit games against Southern Illinois to help the Bears claim the conference series...Registered multi-hit games in five of the Bears' final 20 contests, including two in a row against Indiana State (May 9-10) to highlight a series that saw him go 5-for-11 with three RBIs...Closed the season with hits in each of his final nine Valley games, hitting .364 (12-for-33)...Also drove in four runs in MSU's three-game series at Dallas Baptist (May 2-4)...Helped the Bears eliminate host Indiana State from the MVC Championship with a two-run single that sparked four-run, third-inning rally and culminated in a 9-1 victory...Hit .277 in 45 games over the summer with the Forest City Owls of the Coastal Plains League.

Made six starts in MSU's first seven games...Hit .308 (4-for-13) in his first four starts as a Bear, Feb. 17-24...Went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and two runs scored Feb. 18, in the Bears' 10-8 win over Tennessee Tech...Assisted on four double plays in MSU's 4-2 win at Texas Tech (Feb. 19), just one shy of Ryan Howard's single-game school record...Drove in his first run May 5 in the Bears' 11-3 win over Air Force...Registered his first hits since Feb. 24 with a 2-for-3 day off the Bears' bench in an 11-8 win over Bradley at the MVC Championship (May 24)...Started at shortstop in each of MSU's final two contests at the Coral Gables Regional (June 2-3), going 1-for-4 with an RBI in the Bears' 12-2 win over top seeded Miami (Fla.).
