2012: Becker turned in a solid rookie campaign as a Bear, hitting .245 with a pair of homers and 16 RBIs in 51 games, including 27 starting assignments...Logged a team-high 26 starts in left field...Batted .300 (12-for-40) on the road...Recorded first career hit vs. Houston Baptist (Feb. 26), going 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored...Went 3-for-4 with a pair of walks and two runs scored and reached base in five of six trips to the plate, March 4-6...Posted his first three-hit game as a Bear March 9, vs. SIU Edwardsville...Reached base in seven-straight games, March 2-13...Registered his fourth multi-hit game March 13, vs. Purdue with a 2-for-4 night against the 28th-ranked Boilermakers...Drove in his first runs as a Bears March 20 at SEMO, plating a pair with a seventh-inning single in MSU's 8-1 victory...Went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a career-high three RBIs in the Bears' 14-4 win over Illinois State (April 13)...Homered for the first time as a Bear and scored twice April 21 in MSU's 7-2 win at Wichita State...Posted a pair of hits and scored a run May 9 at Missouri...Went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in two games at the NCAA Regional in Coral Gables, Fla. Background: Prior to joining the Bears, Becker was a four-year starting shortstop at Shawnee Mission East High outside Kansas City...Earned first-team all-state recognition as a senior after batting .612 with 18 extra-base hits, 22 RBIs, 26 runs scored and nine steals in 25 games...Also named the Sunflower League Player of the Year, first-team all-conference, first-team all-metro by the Kansas City Star, and selected to play in the KCK All-Star Game...Picked up Shawnee Mission East team and defensive MVP awards all four seasons...Named all-conference following his junior and sophomore years...Batted .375 in the Ban Johnson League in the summer of 2011, driving in 17 runs and scoring 19 en route to being selected to play in the All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium.
