At Missouri State: A Baseball America Preseason All-American, Ross Detwiler returns as the ace of the 2007 staff in his third season with the Bears. He brings a career ERA of 3.76 and a 7-6 record into his junior season, and a repeat of last year will see the southpaw move into third all-time in strikeouts on the MSU career list.

2006: Made 14 starts for the Bears, finishing 7-4 with a 2.81 ERA ... Was 4-1 with a 0.93 ERA and two complete games in his final five starts of the season, holding opponents to a .135 batting average over that stretch ... Tossed a complete game one-hitter to defeat Creighton in the MVC Tournament (5/25), earning Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week honors in the process ... Tossed a one-run complete game against Illinois State (5/13), and led the MSU pitching staff with 93 innings and 99 strikeouts ... Fanned at least 10 batters on four occasions, with a season-best effort of 11 versus Illinois State (5/13) ... Allowed three earned runs or less in 12 of his 14 appearances ... Gave up just 11 extra base hits ... Went at least five innings in all but one start ... Was MVC Pitcher of the Week on May 15, as well as an all-league honorable mention selection ... Played for the world champion Team USA team in the summer of 2006, recording a 2-0 record and 0.95 ERA for the 28-2 team ... Including his last five starts from 2006, six appearances with Team USA and two starts for the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod league, Detwiler has put together a 7-1 record and 1.01 ERA with 80 strikeouts in 71 innings of work over his last 13 competitive appearances.

2005: Detwiler started eight games for Missouri State and posted an 0-2 record with a 6.35 ERA ... Detwiler struck out 35 batters in 34.0 innings of work ... He suffered an injury to his hand early in the season, but came back to pitch in four games ... His longest outing of the season was 6.0 innings against Louisiana-Monroe (5/8) ... With the Wentzville American Legion team, Detwiler had a 0.50 ERA and 65 strikeouts in just 35 innings.
