2010
• Transitioned from pitcher to field player as the season progressed, eventually seeing time on the mound, all three outfield positions, first base and catcher
• First career hit, run and stolen base came Mar. 24 versus Central Arkansas
• Finished the year with 10.2 innings pitched over six appearances, while going 4-for-24 at the plate and playing in the field in 32 contests
• Threw a scoreless inning with two strikeouts at No. 6 Georgia Tech (2/20)
• Had a 3.74 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 55.1 innings for the Northwoods League's St. Cloud River Bats over the summer

2009
• Went 1-3 with a save in 26.1 innings
• Pitched out of the bullpen his first four outings before switching to a starter for his final four
• Threw the final three hitless innings of a shutout against North Dakota (3/7)
• Tossed a career-long seven innings to beat SEMO (3/17), scattering four hits against six strikeouts and no walks
• Struck out five over five innings at Arkansas State (4/14), and fanned four in five frames against Saint Louis (4/28)
• Pitched for the Wilmington Sharks of the Coastal Plain League in the summer, logging a league-high 80.2 innings, 11 starts and five pickoffs while striking out 60 batters and posting a 2.79 ERA and .223 opponent average

2008
• Pitched 16.1 innings over 10 appearances in 2008, making starts against Kansas (3/12), SEMO (3/26) and Saint Louis (4/23)
• Tossed a season-high 3.2 innings against SLU in his final start
• Had scoreless outings against Central Arkansas (3/2) and Iowa (3/9) and fanned six hitters on the year
• Over the summer, went 2-1 with a 1.94 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 46.1 innings for the Hornell Dodgers of the New York Collegiate League

Background

• Came to MSU as one of the most decorated baseball players to graduate from Springfield's Kickapoo High, where he is a member of the Athletics Hall of Fame
• First-team all-state, all-Ozarks, all-conference and all-district choice as a senior after going 9-2 with a 1.07 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 71.1 innings for the 22-5 Chiefs
• Had a 1.96 ERA with 72 strikeouts on the mound as a junior while hitting .396
• Was an all-district and all-conference selection that season, and also earned second-team all-Ozarks laurels
• Pitched for the Midwest Nationals of the Premier League in Springfield over the summer following his senior season, compiling a 7-0 record and 2.67 ERA with 50 strikeouts in 42 innings
• Chosen by the Chicago Cubs in the 35th round of the 2007 draft
