2015: Meyer posted a career-best .298 batting mark in 39 games last spring...Made 21 starts, primarily as the Bears’ designated hitter...Batted .406 (13-for-32) with seven of his nine RBIs at Hammons Field; also thrived during league play, hitting .314 (11-for-35) in 14 games...Turned in a personal-best eight-game hit streak, Feb. 28-March 27, batting .524 (11-for-21) with six RBIs; reached base safely in 11 consecutive contests during the same stretch...Logged career-high three-hit efforts March 24 vs. Kansas and April 3 vs. Dallas Baptist...Went 5-for-6 with two RBIs and two runs scored over a two-game swing vs. KU and Jacksonville (March 27)...Torched DBU with a 7-for-14 performance during the Bears’ series win over the Patriots (April 2-4), reaching base safely in nine of his 16 plate appearances on the weekend...Notched his second multi-hit outing of the season vs. Kansas (April 15), going 2-for-3 with a run scored in the 3-0 MSU win...Recorded a hit and drove in a run vs. Wichita State (May 2) to help the Bears sweep the Shockers in a three-game home set...Drove in a run in MSU’s 14-1 NCAA Regional victory over Canisius (May 30).

Background:
A prep standout from Belleville (Ill.) West High School, Meyer hit .465 as a senior in leading the Maroons to a 21-13 overall record and a Southwestern Conference championship this past spring...Earned an all-state nod from the Illinois coaches after clubbing 10 doubles, driving in 16 runs and stealing 10 bases as a senior... Also started at shortstop for the Illinois team in the PNC Bank Showcase and picked up his second-straight all-metro squad selection...Picked up first-team all-conference and all-area honors after batting .324 with 10 doubles and 19 runs batted-in as a junior...Also lettered as a sophomore, hitting .375 in 11 varsity contests.
