MSU Swimming and Diving teams finish day one of competition at UALR Invite
 

 

 

The Missouri State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were in action Friday evening, Nov. 30 at the Arkansas-Little Rock Christmas Invitational. Team scores were not available for tonight’s meet. 

 

On the men’s side the Bears claimed first place in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:23.12. Freshman diver Eric Ducourneau also took home top honors with a total score of 314 on the 1 meter board.

 

Sophomore Andy Denefe earned second place clocking a time of 21.24 in the 50 free.  Victor Serra captured third in the 100 fly touching the wall at 50.48 while teammate Eduardo Pajares took fifth in the 500 free with a time of 4:37.85.

 

Missouri State added a sixth place finish in the 200 free relay with a team effort from Denefe, Dillon Burns, Ignacio Gayo, and Roko Simunic.

 

On the women’s side Missouri State was lead by sophomore Stacey MacDonald who earned two sixth place finishes in the 100 breast and 400 individual medley.

 

Sprinter Jordan Hawkins took fourth in the 50 free with a time of 24.69. Clocking a time of 58.27 Breanna Hollar earned a sixth place finish in the 100 fly.

 

Matana Wellman, Hollar, Andi Rojas-Jimenz, and Hawkins took fourth in the 800 free relay posting a time of 7:54.13 and fifth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:41.07.

 

The Missouri State swimming/diving teams will conclude action at the UALR Christmas Invitational Saturday evening, Dec. 2. Competition is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
