Missouri State Men's Swimming & Diving No. 11 in First CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll of 2013-14
Nov. 21, 2013
EVANSTON, Ill. - The Missouri State men's swimming & diving team is ranked No. 11 in the first CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Top 50, the website announced Thursday.
The Bears earned 756.44 points to land just outside the top 10 and ahead of BYU (743.3), Connecticut (741.11), Buffalo (739.33) and Brown (736.3) in the top 15. Princeton leads the poll with 892.81 points.
Now in its 12th year, the Mid-Major Rankings serve to provide an objective point system to compare teams that do not benefit from large scale football or basketball conferences or those teams that provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules.
This year's ranking system utilizes CollegeSwimming.com's Power Points in lieu of team-submitted entries. The ranking accounts for teams' top performances over the preceding month and is the only objective ranking of swimming for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, and NJCAA.
Missouri State is back in action at the TYR Invitational at Northwestern starting Friday at 9.m.
