Bears Face Lindenwood Friday, Travel to Truman State Saturday

Missouri State will swim against Lindenwood at Hammons pool this Friday at 6 p.m. before traveling to Kirksville on Saturday to compete against Truman State and Nebraska-Omaha.  The MSU men are 3-0 on the young season and ranked 32nd in the most-recent NCAA Division I poll, while the women are 1-3 and looking to rebound from some close losses early in the year.

“On Friday, we hope to try some of our swimmers in different races, giving them an opportunity to swim events they are not normally entered in,” said Missouri State associate head coach Dave Collins.

The Bears will use Friday to prepare for a dual meet against 2008 NCAA Division II Women’s Swimming and Diving National Champions, Truman State.  While the men will face only one school, Truman State, the women will swim a double dual against the Bulldogs and Nebraska-Omaha.

“We expect the two schools to be tough competitors on Saturday,” said head coach Jack Steck.  “Without our diving squad traveling this weekend, it will make the meet very close.  We expect them to be as good of an opponent as Drury was last weekend.”

The meet against Lindenwood is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday at Hammons pool.  Saturday's meet at Kirksville will begin at 2 p.m.
