Ducourneau Named Sun Belt Diver of the Week
Eric Ducourneau, a freshman on the Missouri State swimming and diving team, has been named the Sun Belt Diver of the Week today in the season’s first set of weekly league swimming and diving awards.
Ducourneau swept each event he entered in the past two meets, leading the Missouri State swimming and diving teams to victories over Truman State University, Delta State University, and Drury University. Ducourneau entered the three meter diving event in the double dual meet versus Truman State and Delta State and posted a score of 319.88. On the one meter board he outscored all competition with a score of 289.40. In the win over Division II powerhouse, Drury University,Ducourneau tallied a score of 310.20 on the one meter board and 271.20 on the three meter board seperating himself for the rest of the pack. Ducourneau’s score of 319.88 in the three meter dive and score of 289.40 in the one meter dive rank first on the Sun Belt’s season best list.
The Bears will be back in action Friday Nov. 4 when they travel to Columbia, Mo. to challenge the University of Missouri, Southern Illinois University, and Virgina Tech University. The meet is scheduled to being at noon.
