Crowder Selected for MVC Good Neighbor Award
Missouri State senior diver Amy Crowder has been selected as one of 10 recipients of the Missouri Valley Conference’s Good Neighbor Award. The MVC has partnered with State Farm Insurance in creating the award, which honors model student-athletes who demonstrate good citizenship.
Crowder earned her third All-MVC honor placing sixth on the one-meter board and third in the three-meter diving competition at the Valley Championship meet. She turned in her top performance of the season sweeping both the one-meter (209.93) and three-meter (248.93) diving events in the season's opening meet versus North Texas.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Crowder is a two-time MVC Scholar-Athlete and a four-time MSU Academic Honor Roll honoree. The Tulsa, Okla., native has served as MSU’s conference SAAC representative and has been active in numerous MSU swimming and diving service projects throughout her career.
Nine additional student-athletes were named by Commissioner Doug Elgin as the honorees for this past winter, including Kelly Krumwiede of Bradley, Sam Schuett of Creighton, Lindsay Whorton of Drake, Rebekah Parker of Evansville, Kristi Cirone of Illinois State, Laura Rudolphi of Indiana State, Chris Lawson of Northern Iowa, Erica Smith of Southern Illinois and Whitney Rice of Wichita State.
In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition.
