Jansen Named Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week
 

 

  

CLEVELAND - Sophomore Daan Jansen has been named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week for his results at the Tunica Invitational. Jansen is the third Bear to receive the honor this year.

At the Tunica Invitational, Jansen led the Bears to a first-place finish. He finished first in the 200-yard individual medley (1:56.36), the 400-yard individual medley (4:08.90) and the 1000-yard freestyle (9:45.21). The only other male swimmer in the meet to achieve multiple individual victories was Jansen's teammate Chris Novak with two. Jansen is currently in the top five in the MAC in the 1000-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 400-yard individual medley and holds the top time in the 1650-yard freestyle this season.

Next up for Missouri State is Senior Night at Hammons Pool on Jan. 15. The Bears will face off against the Truman State Bulldogs, and before the meet, the outgoing senior class will be honored. Meet will begin at 2 p.m.
