2012-13: Dropped six seconds off her 500 prelims time to finish 10th overall (5:01.90) and second place in the B-Final on Day 1 of conference; moved up five spots after posting the 15th-fastest time on Thursday morning...Tied with Illinois State's Katherine Nelson for ninth place in the 200 free consolation final (1:53.73)...Finished 10th in the 1650 free timed final on Day 3 of the MVC Championships...Ranked as the Bears' top swimmer in the 200 free heading into the 2013 MVC Championships...Registered season bests in the 200 free (1:52.49), 1000 free (10:30.53) and 1650 free (17:27.59) at the Purdue Invitational...Teamed up with Suzanne Van Rensburg for a 1-2 finish in the 1000 free at Mizzou...Finished the season among the Bears' top-five swimmers in the 200 free (3rd), 500 free (4th), 1000 free (3rd) and 1650 free (3rd).

Background: Wright is a middle-distance freestyle swimmer from Round Rock, Texas and swims for Texas Gold Swimming. In the deep talent pool of Texas, the Stony Point senior is ranked the 58th-best recruit in the state of Texas this year. In 2011, Wright logged life-time bests in the 200, 500, and 1,650 freestyle at the 2011 Speedo Sectionals in College Station, Texas.
