Bears win four more events; lead by 118 points heading into final day

At Missouri State: Ciro enters his senior season as a top swimmer for the Bears and has been named Team Captain by head coach Jack Steck...2008-09: Ciro had a great junior season for Missouri State University, swimming well in his individual events and excelling in the relay events...was the anchor leg on the 400-yard medley and the 200-yard freestyle relays that broke a Sun Belt Conference records with their times of 3:12.48 and 1:19.40 respectively...2007-08: As a transfer sophomore in 2007, Sauaia finished in the top 16 for all three of his events at the Sun Belt Conference Championships in 2008. He finished 10th in the 50 free with a time of 20.82. Sauaia scored again for the Bears with a seventh-place finish in the 100 free at 45.84. He also swam the 100 fly at the conference meet, finishing 12th with a time of 49.87. Background: Sauaia joined the Bears after his freshman year at the University of South Carolina. As a freshman, he placed in the top 16 in the 50 freestyle at the Southeastern Conference Championship in 2007. Best times during his year at South Carolina were: 20.8 in the 50 free, 45.3 in the 100 free, and 49.5 in the 100 fly. At Fort Walton Beach High School in Florida, Sauaia was the state champion as a junior in the 50 free. After moving to Nashville, Tennessee, he continued to improve, winning both the 50 and 100 free with times of 20.9 and 45.9 respectively. He graduated high school from Father Ryan High School in Nashville. He was also named the Southeastern Champion in 2005 and 2006 in the 50 and 100 free. Personal: Full name is Ciro Sauaia.
