At Missouri State: As a senior, Chelsea Ray will be the backbone of the diving group for the Bears...2008-09: Ray was once again named Diver of the Year by coach Jack Steck. She has won the event for the past three years...along with teammate Heather Fulton, dove in the 2009 Zone "D" Diving Championships, where she placed 29th...was selected first team All-MVC for the second straight season...maintained a 4.0 GPA in her major of advertising and promotions and made the 2009 MVC Scholar-Athlete team...2007-08: For the second consecutive season, Ray earned MSU Diver of the Year honors. She was the top diver on both boards for the Bears at the conference meet. Ray captured the three-meter title with 264.80 points placing her third in school history in the event. She also finished fifth in one-meter diving. Ray was named to the All-MVC First Team. She was also listed on the MSU Academic Honor Roll as well as an MVC Scholar-Athlete, boasting a 4.00 GPA. 2006-07: Ray was named MSU Diver of the Year as a freshman. At the league's championship meet she recorded a fourth-place finish in the three-meter competition and a sixth-place finish on the one-meter board. Ray was named to the All-MVC honorable mention squad and was on the MSU Academic Roll. Background: Ray joined Missouri State after diving for A.J. Diamond High School in Anchorage, Alaska. Ray holds the school record for the one-meter (11) diving with 430.7 points. She was voted Most Valuable Diver as a senior and a junior and is a two-time Alaska state champion in one-meter diving.
