At Missouri State: J.R. Pyle posted three top 10 finishes at the Sun Belt Championship as a junior. He placed seventh in the 1650 free, eighth in the 200 fly and 10th in the 200 free. Pyle was awarded All-Conference honors. 2005-06: Pyle was the third leg of the 800 free relay that placed second at the 2006 Valley Invitational. Pyle achieved fourth place in the 200 fly, along with fifth in the 200 free and sixth in the 500 free at the conference meet. 2004-05: Pyle finished fourth at the MVC Invitational in the 200 butterfly, sixth in the 500 free and seventh in the 1650 free and Pyle earned all-conference honorable mention. Background: Pyle came to the Bears after winning two consecutive Suburban Conference Championships as an individual in the 100-yard butterfly as a junior and the 100 free as a senior. Pyle set a new school record in the 100 fly his senior year with a time of 52.56. Personal: Full name is James Robert Pyle. Born December 13, 1985, in Fort Worth, Texas.
