At Missouri State: As a co-captain for the Bears in his final season, Eduardo Pajares is expected to be a strong competitor in distance and individual medley events. 2007-08: Pajares was a vital component to the Bears' success in the 2007-08 season. He led the distance and individual medley group, placing first at the Sun Belt Championships in the 400 IM. His time set new SBC and MSU records. Pajares also finished second in the 200 back at the conference meet and ninth in the 500 free. He was awarded Sun Belt Medallion honors and was named to the Men's All-America Honorable Mention Team. 2006-07: Pajares was named to the 2007 All-SBC team after capturing first place in the 400 individual medley, third in the 200 back, and fifth in the 100 back. Pajares was a key member of the first-place 400 medley relay and fourth-place 800 free relay. 2005-06: Pajares was co-swimmer of the meet along with teammates Matt Beasley and Seth Johnson for the Delta State Invitational after posting wins in the 500 free and in the 200 back at the meet. The versatile swimmer was named to the 2006 All-Missouri Valley Conference team after scoring two second-place finishes in the 400 IM and 800 free relay, along with two bronze medals in the 500 free and 200 back. He was awarded 2005-06 MSU Freshman of the Year honors. Background: Pajares joined the Missouri State Bears after taking a second place finish in the 200-meter backstroke in the National Spanish Championship long course in 2004 where he was also ranked fifth in the 100-meter backstroke.
