At Missouri State: Kyle Margheim scored a 14th-place finish at the 2007 Sun Belt Championship in the 400 individual medley competition. He also earned a spot on the MSU Academic Honor Roll 2005-06: Margheim was a 2006 all-league honorable mention pick after he swam to a fifth-place finish in the 200 fly, seventh-place finish in the 100 breast and an eighth-place finish in the 100 fly at the Valley Championship. 2004-05: Margheim earned all-conference honorable mention in his first year competing as a Bear. He had three top 10 finishes at the 2005 MVC Invitational, in the 100 fly, 200 fly and 100-yard breaststroke. Background: Margheim was a four-year letterman at Mitchell High School, but did most of his damage in the record books during the middle years. Margheim's sophomore season he set the South Dakota state record in the 100-yard butterfly. He was the state champion in the 100 fly and the 100-yard backstroke.
