Dirks-Ham elevated to assistant coach; veteran coach Brosseau joins Dave Colllins' staff

Justin Brosseau joins the Missouri State swimming and diving staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2013-14 season.

"I am thrilled to be back by family and friends in Springfield, and I am truly excited to be part of the Missouri State Bears," Brosseau said. "Coach Collins and his staff have created an amazing atmosphere at MSU, and the student-athletes here are some of the most focused and professional I have come across. This program is quickly becoming one of the strongest mid-majors in the country, and I hope I can help that rise continue."

Brosseau spent the last five years as an assistant coach with the women's-only program at Boise State and was promoted to associate head coach prior to the 2012-13 season.

In Brosseau's time in Boise, the Broncos won consecutive Western Athletic Conference titles in 2010-11 and then claimed the Mountain West Conference crown in their first year in the league in 2012. Under Brosseau's tutelage, Boise State sent swimmers to the NCAA Championships in each of the last three seasons.

The Broncos became the first team in Mountain West history to qualify a relay for the NCAA meet in 2012, as the 200-yard freestyle finished 16th. Four members of the squad earned honorable mention All-America accolades.

Brosseau coached five BSU student-athletes at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb.

Before Boise State Brosseau was a volunteer assistant coach at Division II power Drury University in 2008, a season which the Drury men's program won the national title and the women's program finished second. He was also an assistant age group coach with Springfield Aquatics from 2005-08.

Brosseau, originally from Rogersville Mo., graduated from Missouri State in 2007 with a degree in English literature. He is currently pursuing a master's degree at MSU. Competitively, lettered at Truman State from 2001-04.

Brosseau married the former Kate Fraser in May of 2012, they reside in Springfield.
